Support Us

Get Involved

Whilst the primary way that we work is meeting directly with those that need our help, there are plenty of ways that you can support the work of CAP Centre Bexhill.

Whether you’re able to support us in prayer, with a financial gift or with your time through volunteering, we rely on the generosity of all of our supporters to continue in our mission of helping people escape from debt.

On this page you’ll find lots of information for how to get involved (both as individuals and churches) and you can use the links to jump straight to a specific section. But of course, we’re always open to new ideas! So if you think of something or you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send us a message.

Volunteering

Pray

We rely on prayer to enable us to continue the work of the CAP Centre. That’s why we’re so indebted to our faithful supporters who remember us in their prayers.

To help you to know how to pray for us, we’re keen to keep you up to date with our latest news and the situations we’re facing. You can use the form to sign up for our newsletters, which in addition to our prayer items, will also contain details of any events or campaigns we’re running.

Of course, you can always get in touch at any time to see how we’re getting on — we love to hear from our supporters!

Volunteer

In addition to our staff, we’re joined by some incredible volunteers who give their time to help those in our community. If you’d be interested in joining them, we’d love to hear from you!

What exactly this looks like varies from person to person — you may wish to be involved with providing client support directly, or with our befriending scheme (more details below). Alternatively, you might like to help us with practical matters like packing and distributing our Christmas hampers, or helping us to run our events or drop in centre.

Pop us a message and we can have a chat about what volunteering with CAP Bexhill might involve for you, or alternatively, download and fill out this form, which can be e-mailed to [email protected].

Making a difference - practical help with debt in Bexhill

Befriending

Relationships are key to how we work at CAP Centre Bexhill. So alongside our trained Debt Coaches, our team of Befrienders help to provide support and friendship to our clients.

A befriender is someone who has a passion for people and lives out what it means to build community. Being in debt is often linked to social isolation for many of our clients. Debt can mean having no disposable income to socialise with friends, carrying the stigma associated with being in debt and having low self-esteem.

Befrienders come along to any client visits to give help and provide a listening ear. They take an active interest in clients’ lives, staying in touch, taking them out for coffee, inviting them to watch sport or even taking them to church.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved with, contact us using the links above.

You can also read more about Befriending here.

Partner with us

We’re so grateful to count several local churches as key supporters of Bexhill CAP Centre. We’re big believers in the local church and have been so blessed by their support, both in prayer and finances.

What this looks like is often different dependent on the church! So we’d love to talk to other Bexhill churches to get to know each other better, and to hear your ideas of how you can support the important work we’re doing, helping those struggling with debt in our community.

Arrange a visit

We love visiting churches to share more about what we do, and to give updates that can help them to pray for us.

If you’d like to arrange a visit for us to speak in a service, prayer meeting or something different, just get in touch!
